Take the first step toward obtaining your Maryland Wear & Carry Permit with our comprehensive 16-hour Maryland State Police–approved training course. This in-person program covers essential topics including Maryland firearm laws, self-defense principles, safe firearm handling and storage, and concludes with the required live-fire qualification on the range.

Important Information
We also offer virtual instruction for certain portions of our training; however, all students will still be required to complete an in-person range session in order to meet licensing requirements and ensure proper hands-on qualification.
Students are responsible for completing fingerprinting and paying all applicable Maryland State Police application fees.
Students are responsible for a $25 range fee and for either bringing their own ammunition or purchasing it at the range.

Individuals who are currently registered as Maryland medical cannabis patients are generally not eligible to obtain a Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL) due to federal firearms laws prohibiting firearm possession or purchase by marijuana users, even when marijuana use is lawful under Maryland law.
